AUDIO MATT CAMPBELL BACK TO BACK 24HR RACES

Last weekend Aussie Matt Campbell raced the 24 Hours of Le Mans, this weekend its the 24 Hours of Nurburgring, two different series and two different Porsche Teams, there’s a lot on this year for the young Queenslander.

As you’ll here from Matt this years 24hr Le Mans was a tough race that didn’t go their way, they finished 5th on the road but were elevated to fourth after the lead Ford GT car was disqualified after the event.  Last years LM24 saw Matt and the Dempesy-Proton team take first place.  (And Velocity was there, see here)

Le Mans was the final round of the 2018/19 World Endurance Championships (WEC) SuperSeason.  Matt came second in the world series, it would have been the top spot but the team was penalised and lost all their points from the first 3 races of the series, but not their positions.

Here is Matt’s post from FB after Le Mans:

P5 (edit “P4” after the #85 was disqualified) at the end of a gruelling 24 Heures du Mans, a tough one to swallow with lots of misfortune throughout the race for us… not what we wanted! On a brighter side together with #PatrickDempseyTeam Proton Competition#ChristianReid & Julien Andlauer we finished Second in the FIA WEC2018/2019 Super Season in #LMGTEAM ? Great come back considering we lost all our points from the first 3 rounds ??#DempseyProtonCompetition #Porsche #911RSR #77 #TagHeuer#MilwaukeeTools #TeamPorsche

He’s now at the amazing Nurburgring Nordschleife racing with Frikadelli Racing in the ADAC TOTAL 24h-Rennen Nürburgring where last night they qualified 5th, there are around 160 cars in this race!
